Almost 5 years coming to an End: In recovery

Written November 2019

Today I visited my psychiatrist for the first time in a year. It turns out after my discharge from therapy last month, they didn’t even think I needed to see them as I had done so well. So I ended up seeing a prescribing mental health nurse, I think, there’s so many titles I’m not always sure.

The most important thing from today is that, they’re taking me, slowly, but taking me off my medication. This will be slow done starting with my quetipine dropping to nothing in around 3-4 months. Then we’ll look at my anti-depressants. They even discussed discharging me from the mental health team next year.

I can’t quite put this in to words today and if you happened to see my Facebook live you’ll know how much it meant. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I have so much passion for the DBT, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and it’s impact on my life. I intend to continue blogging as I use it through my life.
