Hen Party Plans!

So this used to be my thing. I loved it. I always did it for family/ friends. I love event planning, girly weekends to see Take That, kids wacky birthday parties from a Mad Hatters Tea Party to a Masquerade Ball for an 8 year old. I loved it. Anxiety has robbed me of some of that enjoyment but last year I jumped at arranging my sisters with my other sister Becky. I was not going to let her down. Fast forward to 2 months before & I hit meltdown. Money, plans, games, food, drinks, people, everything began to become an issue. People cancelled, our cocktail maker cancelled, but with the support of Becky we did it.

A week before & I was on track. More so than ever. As usual I’m hoping for the best, expecting the worst but planning everything to the last minute…

Here are just a few of the things we did & who we used. We had a great time & wanted to thank those who had helped us. Thank you to everyone who came, all her friends & all the companies below who made part of her weekend special.

We stayed at Darwin Forest in two separate lodges close by. There were 12 of us in total, so most of the activities took place at the larger lodge which slept 8! We had 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a lovely decking area & a hot tub. The other lodge just down from us had our other 4 guests and they also had a hot tub!

On the Saturday we had lunch at a local pub, the Red Lion. It was lovely & got us out of the lodges for a few hours.

On the Saturday evening we had our very own Muddle Cocktail makers over to the lodge & had a great time. You can also find more details at their website

We each learnt how to make 3 cocktails, there were shots & prosecco. They did a great job at looking after a rowdy bunch of ladies on a hen do so do get in touch if your looking for a cocktail making class & pop up bar!

On the Sunday Afternoon we collected a beautiful Afternoon Tea from at When the Clock Strikes 3

Or their website

It was a beautiful spread & fantastic value for money. Everything looked amazing & I would highly recommend them. The Harry Potter cake was ordered separately and made by the amazing Rachel Welbourne. If I can find her website I’ll share that too!

The various decorations & games we mostly ordered from eBay

Hopefully the hen had a great weekend & so did everyone else
